"Iyong Inaasahan Kong Mangyari Sa Cagayan, Siya Nakagawa." Ex-LP Member Said He Was Impressed With President Duterte.

Cagayan Governor Manuel N. Mamba criticized ex-party Liberal Party (LP) and was impressed with the intelligence and potential of President Rodrigo Duterte during a press briefing last November 1.

Mamba throws tirades against Aquino administration on the day he was sworn in as the new provincial chairman of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban. He highlighted Aquino administration's incapability to deliver his “expectation” for the province, especially in kicking out his political adversary in a press briefing on Friday, November 11.

Mamba, who was the former regional chairman of LP in Cagayan Valley in the 2016 elections, said he kept asking the administration of Aquino to address corruption, rampant illegal gambling, and black sand mining in Cagayan, however, these stayed on.

He said it was “impressive” that this had happened during the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“The truth is, I don’t even know si Duterte. Iyong inaasahan kong dapat mangyari sa Cagayan, siya ang nakagawa eh,” Mamba said.

When he was in the cabinet of former President Benigno Aquino III “because of the presence of vested interests", he kept quiet about it. According to Mamba, he also asked Aquino to remove the administration of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) from Jose Mari Ponce, but it was never granted.

Mamba had been one of the staunchest critics of CEZA, saying “all the foolishness” is happening under the ground of the agency only during the Duterte administration when Atty. Raul Lambino took over.
“I kept quiet because ‘yung vested interest na nandoon. Hindi ko kaya baka ako ‘yung sipain. So I just waited, through 1 and a half years, kita ninyo naman. Dati monopoly yang CEZA, ngayon nawala na,” Mamba said.
